Export Your Collection as JSON

Create a portable JSON backup of every verified sighting through the system share sheet.

Outcome

The backup page exports a human-readable MODE 1090 JSON file without requiring an account.

How to do it

  1. Open Settings, then Backup.
  2. Check the sighting count shown beside the export action.
  3. Choose Export collection and wait for the system share sheet.
  4. Save mode1090-backup.json to Files, a trusted drive or another location you control.
  5. Open the file only with tools you trust; it can contain your saved aircraft history.

Good to know

  • Export is free and works for local collections.
  • The current backup screen exports JSON. Import is handled together with the collection/account data flow when that option is presented by the app.
  • Keep more than one copy before deleting or replacing collection data.
If the result looks different, open Settings > Help and send the visible status together with device, operating system and app version.
