Outcome
Range controls how much sky is visible; display mode controls how much visual detail each contact uses.
How to do it
- On iPhone, iPad or Mac, open the range control and choose the distance that matches your surroundings.
- Open radar settings to choose aircraft silhouettes, ATC-style labels or reduced dots.
- On Apple Watch, rotate the Digital Crown to move between 10, 20, 30 and 40 nautical miles.
- On Apple TV, press Play/Pause to open options, then choose 20, 40 or 80 nautical miles and the desired view.
- Use the compact modes when traffic is dense and the detailed modes when tracking a smaller number of aircraft.
Good to know
- The same range does not imply the same screen density on every device.
- Display choices change presentation only; they do not change the underlying live tracks.
If the result looks different, open Settings > Help and send the visible status together with device, operating system and app version.
