Airport markers add geographic context to the radar; iPhone, iPad and Mac can additionally show available METAR weather and runway guidance.
How to do it
- Enable airport markers in radar settings.
- Select a supported airport marker on iPhone, iPad or Mac to open its available weather and runway information.
- Read the METAR time before using wind, visibility or pressure values.
- Compare runway direction with the reported wind; treat the result as context, not operational guidance.
- On Apple Watch, use airport markers as compact orientation points. Apple TV can show its configured runway context in the large-screen radar.
Good to know
- Weather and runway data can be delayed or unavailable depending on the source.
- Airport information in MODE 1090 is not a substitute for official flight-planning or airfield publications.
