Outcome
The radar centers on your current device location and combines distance, bearing and fresh aircraft tracks into one local view.
How to do it
- Open Sky and wait until the status changes from locating or loading to live traffic.
- Read the range at the edge of the radar and the aircraft count below the MODE 1090 title.
- Tap an aircraft marker or an entry in Nearby to select the same track in both views.
- Use the location control when you want MODE 1090 to refresh your current device location.
- Check the status and data age before relying on a track that has not refreshed recently.
Good to know
- Aircraft can leave the selected range between refreshes; this is normal live-data behavior.
- The app uses aviation units such as nautical miles, feet and knots when the corresponding unit profile is selected.
If the result looks different, open Settings > Help and send the visible status together with device, operating system and app version.
