MODE 1090 live radar with nearby aircraft on iPhone

How to do it

  1. Open Sky and wait until the status changes from locating or loading to live traffic.
  2. Read the range at the edge of the radar and the aircraft count below the MODE 1090 title.
  3. Tap an aircraft marker or an entry in Nearby to select the same track in both views.
  4. Use the location control when you want MODE 1090 to refresh your current device location.
  5. Check the status and data age before relying on a track that has not refreshed recently.

Good to know

  • Aircraft can leave the selected range between refreshes; this is normal live-data behavior.
  • The app uses aviation units such as nautical miles, feet and knots when the corresponding unit profile is selected.
If the result looks different, open Settings > Help and send the visible status together with device, operating system and app version.
