Most empty-radar or alignment problems can be isolated by checking status, permissions, range and source freshness before reinstalling anything.
How to do it
- Read the visible status first: locating, loading, offline, paused and stale states need different fixes.
- Confirm an internet connection and grant precise location to MODE 1090.
- Increase radar range temporarily and use the location control to refresh the current device location.
- For Sky Scanner, also check camera and motion access, move away from magnetic interference and recalibrate the compass.
- Restart the app only after checking the data age and whether the live source is temporarily unavailable.
Good to know
- An empty local sky can be correct when no supported live tracks are inside the selected range.
- Do not enable simulator demo data when diagnosing a real live-data problem.
- If the issue persists, include device, OS, app version, visible status and approximate time in a support request.
